Media Center Hours of Operation

Students may visit the media center to checkout books as they arrive for school 7:30am to 7:50am, all students must be in class for morning announcements. Students may also visit the media center daily with teacher permission and library pass!

Please use Media Center passes to allow two students at a time to visit the media center for independent check out.

MEDIA CENTER POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

  • Students may return books to the book drop at any time during the day.
  • Students may checkout books in the morning before the 7:55am announcements and anytime during the day via self check out!
  • Pre-K and Kindergarten students must leave books in teacher's classroom instead of taking them home.
  • Pre-K, K, 1st and 2nd will check out one book per visit.
  • 3rd-5th grades may check out two books per visit.
  • Teachers may checkout as many books as needed.
  • Teachers do not borrow books without checking them out.
  • If chairs or tables are rearranged by you, or your class, please put them back in their proper space before leaving.
  • If computers are used, place headphones back on monitors, keyboard/mice neatly under monitor and push chairs under.

STUDENTS & TEACHERS: Do we have this book in our library? Follow steps below without leaving your class!

  • Go to myBackpack
  • Click on Follett Destiny tab
  • Click on catalog
  • Click on the Destiny Discover tab (to the left)
  • Search for a particular title by keyword, title, author or other
  • OR browse by topic, popular titles, or e-books
  • If you find what you're looking for: click the name of the book, click copies and write down call # and come down and find it on the shelves. Or send call # and title to me, I'll locate ad deliver. (prior notification of your need is highly suggested)


If you'd like to see the e-resources that APS owns, do the following:


  • Click on the Follett Shelf (not Follett Destiny)
  • Type desired information in search box
  • You can search by AR designation, Lexile, etc.
