Class of 2021 News! Graduation Coming to Eagle Stadium
Argyle High School's graduation ceremony for the Class of 2021 is coming to the Eagles' hometown.
This year's commencement will be held under the lights at Argyle's Eagle Stadium at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18. Traditionally, AHS holds its ceremony at the University of North Texas, but this option was not available and Argyle ISD administrators decided the best choice was to bring the event to AHS.
"We are so excited to host our graduation ceremony in Eagle Stadium for the first time," AHS Principal John King said. "As freshmen, Eagle Stadium is one of our students' very first high school experiences. It is only fitting that a graduation ceremony at Eagle Stadium is their last experience as an Argyle Eagle."
The stadium's capacity is 2,600 and no seating restrictions will be in place. Seating will be available on the home and visitor sides. Eagle Stadium was a popular choice for senior families when surveyed regarding potential graduation sites.
More information will be available soon regarding tickets for senior families and other event details.
"I am so excited for the Class of 2021," Argyle ISD Superintendent Dr. Telena Wright said. "With so many challenges over the past two years for these seniors, the opportunity to celebrate this special achievement at Eagle Stadium will be so memorable."

STATE CHAMPS: Eagles Soar Past Huffman Hargrave
The Eagles defeated Huffman Hargrave 49-30 to claim the Class 4A state championship. It marked the Eagles' first title since 2012 and was a rewarding experience following last year's disappointment of not being able to play at the state tournament because of COVID-19.
Senior guard Skylar McCurry was named MVP and finished with 12 points. Senior Grey Goodson and Nate Atwood were chosen all-tournament. The Eagles finished the year with 28 consecutive victories.
From the Star-Telegram: “The team is ready to play every night,” said Argyle coach Russell Perkins. “We’ve been behind in the fourth quarter twice all year long. That’s it. It takes a lot of strength and courage to get here and to play at the best of our ability. “We have 16 guys that get after it."
