MMS News & Notes
September 16, 2022
From the Principal
MMS Parents and Guardians,
Greetings! As the third week of school wraps up (and the first full 5-day week), I am more than pleased to inform you the large majority of the kids have found their "groove". We realize there are new students and others who are still facing some challenges, but support will remain high for every student who enters MMS every day. Please continue to encourage your child to reach out for any needed support academically, socially and/or emotionally to their teachers, counselor and administration.
Speaking of support, Mr. John Althouse, a current math teacher and secondary math department coordinator, will be transitioning into the role of Acting Assistant Principal at MMS. Mr. Althouse has been with the district for the last 5 years. Prior to MASD, he served as a high school Assistant Principal and Principal in the Governor Mifflin School District. He will be primarily responsible for 8th grade student affairs. Please join me in welcoming him to the MMS Administrative team.
I hope you enjoy your weekend and thank you for partnering with us. It has been a super start to the school year. Let's continue to building upon this early momentum.
Joel A. Yohn, MMS Principal
