1. Collect chestnuts in the blue bins.

4. No chestnuts in the school - lockers, clothes, pockets.
5. We don't bring chestnuts from home or outside school.
6. We only collect during school - not before or after.
Students have been challenged by K-3 teachers to work together as a community in gathering these treasures with an end goal of over 8,479! We will keep you updated as the sum total rises!
Elective Sign Ups
Elective Sign-Ups will take place this TUESDAY, October 3rd, in the auditorium.
Students will participate in an arena-style registration process that provides opportunities to read descriptions carefully, make choices based on their interests, strategically plan the order to sign up, wait responsibly for their turn, and learn what to do when a class becomes full. We will have an abundance of support staff and older students available to help children navigate this experience to make it a safe and positive one.
(1x3 & 7x8 Catalogs were distributed on Friday; 4x6 will go out on Monday)
Families Can Help By:
Discussing class selections prior to sign-ups and having students choose their favorites.
Expressing excitement over the variety of choices, the mixed ages, the small size of classes, and the opportunity to meet new friends and teachers.
Realizing that students may not get all of their top choices, and talking through possible responses ahead of time, including the value of trying new things.
Knowing they can reach out to Dana (dlipson@pps.net), the electives coordinator, to help resolve issues or answer questions.
To minimize crowding in line, the students will be grouped by FIRST NAME; a different group will be first to line up each trimester. CAT GROUP GOES FIRST THIS TIME!

Parking Fundraiser Volunteers Needed
It’s peak soccer season and this is one of the best times of year for our school to fundraise by offering parking for the Timbers and Thorns games. These parking fundraisers hosted by the PTSA, will continue to fill the gap and help support our staff and students with the much-needed funds for student activities. Our parking coordinators will teach you everything you need to know to get you well on your way!
We need people for September 23 & 30, October 7 & 21 (plus playoff games to come).

MLC Tours for Interested Students & Families
Exploring school options to determine the best fit for a student can be both exciting and anxiety producing. We believe getting to actually see the surrounding location and have a guided tour of the building can be very helpful in this decision-making process. To accommodate the numerous requests for tours, we offer a monthly tour for up to 10 interested families on the second Thursday of each month at 4:00 pm and will last approximately 45-60 minutes.
