EMS Week 17-18 Announcements
The know-whats and the know-hows at Estacada Middle School
We are Spreading Kindness
Students took time to reflect how others have been kind and how they are kind throughout the Winter season. Our school is FULL of Kind Students wanting to make our school, community, region, and world a more thoughtful and helping place. We are so proud of our learners and the characteristics within them. Go Tigers!

Advanced Band
Students in Advanced Band played wonderfully. Their abilities are expanding and their confidence is growing. The rhythms and dynamics of their music performance proves that Mr. Hordichok and his students are building a program!
Advanced Choir
The 7th and 8th grade students in Advanced Choir, recently back from a performance in Clackamas at a retirement home, sang beautifully. Mr. Frunk and his students are harmonious. The future of choir in Estacada is bright thanks to these students!
Beginning Choir
The energy was outstanding! Watching out 6th and 7th grade students move to the music and sing with confidence will be well remembered. Mr. Hordichok's passion to instill within our students a love for singing will be invaluable for their future performances.
Beginning Band
The first song performed in Beginning Band showed how much growth has taken effect in our students' music capacity. From squeaking to making music, our students in Beginning Band are making progress. Shout out to all of our solo artists!
Tiger Card Holders Recognized
On Thursday, December 14, all Tiger Card holders were asked to come to EMS's cafeteria, the Bistro, to enjoy hot chocolate! Students were rewarded for their respectful, kind, responsible, and safe actions/behaviors. We are proud of our Tiger Card recipients. Continue to be model citizens.
Hot Chocolate Read to be Served
Before recognizing the Tiger Card holders, Mrs. Juker and Mrs. Knutson prepared the beverages for our students in our kitchen. We are so lucky to have staff members take time to care for our students and go above and beyond. Go Tigers!
Teen Truth and Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Gives Advice
Throughout the last two months, EMS Administration has provided our students with multiple opportunities to hear from outside organizations about Internet Safety, Bullying and Harassing Behaviors, Empathy and Kindness. Please speak with your student about the dangers of the Internet. Look through your student's social media accounts of Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Vine, and SnapChat accounts. And, be open to your student about peer pressure. Support your student to do what is safe, respectful and responsible. Take a look at THESE RESOURCES to help guide your conversation.
