English Landing PTA News

August 2018

A Note from the PTA President

Welcome back to school, Eagles!

I’m honored to serve English Landing as the PTA President for the 2018-2019 school year. In my time with the PTA, I’ve had the privilege of meeting and working along-side the staff and teachers of English Landing, helping the PTA to provide awesome activities (field trips, StemScope night, and Staff Appreciation week just to name a few) and I’ve met amazing families that have given of their time and efforts to serve our school and our students.

I now invite you to join our PTA family to support English Landing’s students and staff for a most amazing year.

I hope to see each of you at our first meeting this coming Monday, August 27, 2018 at 6:30pm in the media center. Babysitting will be provided for school-age children at the cost of $2 per family.

In the meantime, please check out these ways to be involved with your EL PTA:

Volunteer Opportunity!

We are looking forward to enjoying Popcorn Fridays this school year! Thank you SO MUCH to the Doss family and PopCulture for generously donating the popcorn again!

I need your HELP! I need someone (or two people) to commit to attending the 5 Popcorn Fridays and to facilitate the bagging and delivery of the popcorn.

I'd like to have a confirmed volunteer before we set the dates and we're hoping to set the dates soon.

It is a VERY FUN job and the kids always look forward to it!

Please contact me if you have any questions or would like to know more details about the duties: Amy Moench: 913-708-0705 or amymoench@gmail.com

Park Hill Clothing Center

The PTA of the Park Hill School District runs a clothing center that provides free, gently used clothing and new socks and underwear to district students.

The PTA Clothing Center serves all Park Hill School District students from kindergarten through 12th grade. The PTA asks that you bring some proof that you are enrolled in a Park Hill school. This could be a student ID, bus pass, dated letter from a principal or social worker, class schedule or enrollment form.

Donations are welcomed at the Clothing Center, located at 8009 N Atkins, just south of the Gerner Family Early Education Center. Please make sure your donations are clean, in good condition and bagged in kitchen-sized bags that the volunteers can lift.

You can sign up to volunteer at the Clothing Center through this sign up genius.

You can also follow their Facebook page, Park Hill Clothing Center.
