Week in Review:
This week we welcomed students in grades K -2 into the building for the first time this year! This was also the first week of school for our Kindergarten students at Bates Elementary. We are so proud of their transition this week. They have done a wonderful job of following the academic and safety expectations. Each week we will continue to grow academically, socially and emotionally as a community.
We continue to have remote homerooms in grades K-2. The students enrolled in these classes had the opportunity to meet their new homeroom teacher this week. This is also a challenging transition as students build trusting relationships with their teachers. Our students are resilient and will persevere with the support our teachers.
Students in grades 3-5 continue to work hard remotely with their homerooms. As Dr. Zrike proposed at School Committee on Monday, we hope to have more students joining us in the building after the holiday break. In order for this to happen we need to be sure it is safe to do so. We will do our part to follow CDC and DESE protocols in creating a safe and welcoming environment.
