Meet Two of Our Patriots

Mr. Darius Perry, BST TA

I grew up in the small town of Franklinton, NC. After graduating high school in 2008, I went to Shaw University for one year and then I transferred to ECPI University. I completed college in 2012, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. I used my degree to work in security for three years. During those three years an opportunity at my former high school became available, and in 2013, I started working in the Special Education Self-Contained classroom. It was the most rewarding experience that I've had. Seeing students that have autism or other special needs set and achieve their goals is, honestly, something truly amazing. I, now, have the privilege of working with BST Students that are just as amazing. They challenge me everyday in a positive way. Also, I enjoy playing football and basketball in my free time, it's very relaxing. I am enjoying my time serving here at Heritage Middle School. Go Patriots!

Ms. Annie Polashock, 7-2 Math and SS

I was born in Raleigh and raised in Cary, and I am a product of WCPSS - I was on track 4 from K-8 at Morrisville Elementary and Lufkin Road Middle. I am the youngest and only female among my siblings (2 older brothers). I hold a B.S. in Middle Grades Education concentrating in Math & Social Studies from ECU. I previously taught Math 1, Math 2, Math 2 Honors, and Essentials of College Math at Jordan High School in Durham, and Math 7, 7 Plus, Math 8, Math 1/Algebra 1 at East Cary Middle School and Wendell Middle School. Aside from my experience in the classroom, I love to spend time with friends and family, reading young adult novels, hanging out with my 2 cats Abbie and Andy, working out (I would like to eventually run a marathon), hiking, being outdoors, and traveling to the beach or mountains.
