8:00AM Bus Arrival

Parents we do have a bus that arrives at 8:00am or shortly there after. By law, it is necessary to have a designated space for the bus to pull up. We do have a bus drop off and pick up designation that conflicts with parent morning drop off to some extent. We are now placing cones to designate the 8:00am bus drop off in the morning. It allows ample room for parents to pull over, temporarily park, and drop their children off. Do not park between the cones for drop off. It is unlawful for the bus to stop in the street with it's red flashing light when a drop off area has been designated for them. Thank you for adhering to the larger drop off and pick up area during the day and afternoon. We appreciate your cooperation.

Bridges: Time for Giving

Every year Bridges participates in two community service events around giving. We just successfully completed Stuff A Truck. We are now participating in Toys for Tots. It is a local campaign to bring toys to children in Blue Earth and Nicollet counties.

Toys for Tots recognizes all families who make a request no matter what holiday tradition they follow.

Please bring in a new, unwrapped toy or item for children birth through young adult. We will collect toys or monetary donations beginning December 1 and running through December 15.

Thank you for helping the families in our community.

Snow Days

We are entering snow day weather. Please look at the website for school postings: You can also call the snow emergency hotline: (507) 386-4777. If Bridges has a two hour late start due to weather, there is no scheduled late start childcare. If we have an early out, ACES is cancelled. Early dismissal is 15 minutes before the posted time due to bus schedules. If school is closed for the day, there is no childcare, no bus service or staff available. We will follow the snow emergency form you filled out at the beginning of the school year regarding your child's release in the event of closing early. Please do not call the office within the hour prior to closing unless your plans have changed. We need to keep the lines open. Students should be picked up in their rooms. The office will call for bus students when the buses arrive and Mrs. Courrier will be sure they make their bus if that is your plan. Walkers will not be sent if the office feels it would be detrimental to their safety.

Dress for the Weather

Students must be dressed appropriately for school and weather. When boot season begins, students must have a second pair of shoes at school. If there is snow on the ground, students must have snow boots, snow pants, a winter coat, a hat and gloves for recess time.

Being There Experiences:

Parents, it is most important that you support the safety of your children on Being There experiences by making sure they wear their neon yellow Bridges shirt. BAC purchases them for you, you can trade them in as they grow, and we can see our children in big venues. It also shows pride when out in the public. Wearing their Bridges shirt is mandatory. Please make trades on non Being There experience days.

Morning Arrival

Business hours for parents are 8:15-2:15 with the back parking lot and security entrance available right off the parking lot, door 3. Students arriving between 7:45 and 8:10 will be allowed in the front entrance, door 1, at 8:00am. Supervision is provided on the playground from 7:45-8:00. Please keep school arrival to 7:45a.m. Students may not be dropped off without parent supervision prior to 7:45. School start time is 8:00a.m. - 8:10a.m. Door 1 off Garfield Avenue is open 8:00a.m. - 8:10a.m. Students arriving after 8:10 must be signed in by a parent at the office. Drop off in the morning can be done on Garfield Ave. avoiding the bus drop off area for incoming buses. Thank you! Your children’s safety is important to us.

Students arriving for breakfast should enter door 2 off the playground between 7:45-8:00. All kindergarten students are offered a free breakfast if you would like. Students can stay for breakfast in the cafeteria until 8:00 and then head up to class for the day.

Early Bus Arrival

We do have one or two buses that arrive prior to 7:45 every morning. Please have your children who ride the early bus enter through door 1 and go to the office. At 7:45 they can go to the lunchroom for breakfast or they can go to the playground.

Late Start Days

If your child has had a fever or has been vomiting, we ask that you keep them home 24 hours after symptoms are gone without medication. Please call the school office attendance line: 207-5204 if your child is ill. If you let your child’s teacher know through email, please email Tammy Hayes as well at

Head Lice: Please report so the office is aware of it. District Policy states parents are notified if three cases are in one classroom. A request to treat is made by the school nurse. Parents are not mandated to pull their child from school for treatment but it will be advised.

Students will have indoor breaks and recess on rainy days and below zero days.

All students must have a pair of shoes left at school for use in the gym. It keeps the floors clear of debris, supports the students activity and makes for a safer gym class.
