Flood Control Measures That Were In Place

They used levees and artificial levees.

They also used the natural flood plains.


It took 4 months for the water to recede and the people to clean the 6 states.

1. Cost of damage was about 15-20 billion dollars

2. Civil Air Patrol crews from 21 states served more than 5000 meals to flood victims

3. The government poured billions of pounds of sand covered homes
