Suicide Prevention and Awareness - save the date!
Save the Date! Suicide Prevention & Awareness Night: Tuesday, 11/6/18 East Cafeteria, 6PM
According to a study by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in 2016, adolescents and young adults aged 15 to 24 had a suicide rate of 13.15 per 100,000; however, many of us still don't know how to talk about suicide or talk to someone who is considering suicide.
Richmond Hill High School is taking a proactive approach in our efforts to prevent suicide by hosting a Suicide Prevention & Awareness Night. Our goal is to educate students and their families about mental health, suicide warning signs, and the influence/impact of social media, provide resources in our community, and remove the stigma surrounding depression and other mental health conditions related to suicide. Beginning at 6pm, you will be able to visit with representatives from more than 20 agencies and community resources. At 6:30, we will transition to hearing from a few presenters who will share information on safe talk, resiliency, and what parents need to know about social media. Our presenters include Vira Salzburn, Randy Frost, Terri Liles and John Barry. Following the presentation, attendees will be able to again speak with representatives and get information about resources available to us in our area.
On Thursday, 11/15, we will have a student assembly during the school day for 11th and 12th graders that will focus on similar topics.

Class Dues
RHHS student dues were uploaded to students’ MyPayments+ account on Tuesday, September 4, 2018. Dues are $30 per year. Students only pay for the years he/she attends RHHS. The deadline for paying dues without incurring a late fee is December 1, 2018. When paying on MyPayments+, you will see a payment of $45. Please do not be alarmed by this. In an effort to streamline our payment process and make bookkeeping easier and more accurate, we have already included late fees into the total amount. To avoid paying late fees, please use the discount code "December1" - this will reset the cost to $30.
February 22, 2019 is the final date to pay dues in order to get a prom ticket covered by payment of dues. Any junior or senior student who wishes to go to prom and does not pay dues before February 22, 2019, will have to purchase a prom ticket for $125. Students who have not paid dues in past years must pay those dues as well as dues for this year by the due date in order to receive prom ticket or to be able to participate in graduation week events and graduation ceremony.
