Rimrock Principal
Dale Burk
Dear BGV Community,
With the departure of Mr. Dennis Wilson, the BGV Hiring Committee was tasked with conducting a search for our Rimrock Principal during the summer of 2017.
Conducting the Search
The BGV Hiring Committee used the now Board-approved hiring process which outlines the leadership characteristics BGV seeks in its leaders. The Hiring Committee use the well-defined BGV Administrator Handbook to write the job description and guide the interview process for applicants. The Rimrock Principal position was advertised via SchoolSpring.com, via the Idaho School Board Association, and with local universities (BSU, BYU Idaho, NNU, U of I, ISU) who recently graduated educational leaders in the Spring of 2017.
Applicants
Through this search, BGV received 9 applicants for the Rimrock Principal position. The interview team met and interviewed 6 applicants in order to narrow the choices down to 4 great candidates. Using the process outlined in the June 2017 Board Meeting, the BGV Hiring Committee rated candidates based on their qualifications and characteristics BGV seeks in educational leaders.
Though this decision was difficult, due to the high-quality candidates interviewed, our Hiring Committee found Mr. Dale Burk to be the best candidate for the Rimrock Principal position due to:
- His positive experiences as an administrator
- His mission-match qualities, articulated during the interview process and
- His continued commitment to the BGV community
