Ed Puzzle PD Sessions for Grade Level Teachers
The ITC team across the district will be holding 45 minute training sessions for grade level teams. Morgan will be facilitating these Ed Puzzle PD Sessions THIS THURSDAY 1/25. The schedule below is similar to the Data Day schedule and avoids specials for grade level teachers.
We have 3 subs reserved for grade level teachers. That being said, if you are an instructional staff member and want to learn about Ed Puzzle, feel free to attend any of the sessions. Unfortunately we do not have additional subs available. You can also reach out to Morgan for more information or to schedule an individual appointment.
THURSDAY, JANUARY 25th
WHS Winter Olympic Preview --- Coming January 31st-- (Early Release Day)
On this day we will all be participating in the WHS Winter Olympics. This will be an all day event. Each Star Constellation group will participate in 16 events that will last the entire morning. (8:50- 11:15 a.m.)
Then After lunch, we will be having an All-School Assembly for the Closing Ceremonies. (12:30- 1:00 p.m.)
More specific details will come in next week's staff newsletter. For now, just know that you will not need much in the way of lesson plans on Jan. 31st. Also, it is "B Schedule" for us. This means that traveling teachers will be with us all morning, which is a good thing for this day!
Each Star Constellation Group has been assigned a country for our WHS Winter Olympics. One of the events will require you to create a flag of your country. (These flags will then be raised for during our closing ceremonies.) You will also be given a printed picture of your flag so that your group will have a model to draw from. Click on the link below to see what country has been assigned to your Star Constellation group.

OSOB 2018 Chapter Recordings using QuickTime Player
I want to give a huge shout out to the staff that signed up to be guest readers for our One School One Book Event. I think all 38 chapters were accounted for within 24 hours. I feel so lucky to work with such passionate and dedicated people here at WHS. I appreciate your enthusiasm and willingness to go along with my “crazy” ideas! I have attached the signup sheet for your reference as well as the QuickTime directions to help you record. I will be sending reminders of when I need you chapter. Thank you again!

WHS Staff Spotlight:
This is Melanie Mory's 1st year at WHS! She enjoys tennis, biking, crafting, reading, vacationing or just exploring any new place, especially those outside!
Some of Melanie's favorites include:
Song- Too many to narrow down! Right now, it's Future Islands-Aladdin, always love Here Comes the Sun, The Beatles
Food- Tacos, anything Mexican
Movie- It's a Wonderful Life. I love the influence that George has on so many lives around him, without really knowing the extent of his influence at all. I appreciate his humility and how the little things in his life really are significant, especially in the lives of others.
Melanie Mory is inspired by her older sister, "She is a George Bailey. She influences so many without even knowing the significance she plays in others' lives."
Finally, Melanie believes, "LOVE! This is a great starting point. Keep an open mind and treat all with respect. When you do this you will see great things happen amongst your students and in their relationships with one another. You can just seem them light up and tell that they feel important and worthy."
