FPS TEXT MESSAGE TEST @ 4:30PM TUESDAY
As we shared last week, this coming Tuesday sometime around 4:30 pm or shortly after, we will send a test text message to our parents and guardians so we can begin using the text message feature of our messaging system. This will only be used for time-sensitive situations (school is called off, an alert related to a bus incident, a building situation to keep families informed about, upcoming event details, etc). Parents and guardians will receive a message from this service that explains steps to take should you choose to opt-out. Since this is our first time using this feature, we anticipate that some parents or guardians may not receive the message for various reasons so we will follow up with a phone call and email with the next steps to follow if you do not receive the message. That phone call and email will come to parents and guardians around 5:30 pm on Tuesday. Thank you for your patience as we work through adding this new feature.
Note for staff: We are still working to add staff contact information for this feature.
FRANKLIN SABER ROBOTICS LEGO LEAGUE INFO NIGHT FOR PREK-8TH GRADERS
Hot off their recent trip to the FIRST Robotics World Championship in Texas, the Saber Robotics team would like to hold an informational session to share about the FIRST Lego League which is a great way to get involved with robotics in the future. This parent and student informational session will be held on Wednesday, May 11th in the Franklin High School Library from 7 pm to 8 pm. If you have a child in the PreK through 8th grade that is interested in legos, click here to read more about this meeting and plan to attend!
COVID-19 UPDATES
CASES ON THE UPTICK: We have been experiencing more positive COVID-19 cases this week amongst students and staff across the district. This is consistent with what is being seen in and around the community. We ask families to please be diligent in keeping your children home when they are experiencing symptoms or are sick. Please continue to report any symptoms or sickness through the online absence reporting form process.
TESTING CHANGES: Walk-in on-site testing through FPS is no longer available for students and their family members. Students and their family members who are at home and need access to testing are recommended to visit a community testing site. For more information, please visit the Summit Clinical Labs website or the DHS Community Testing page here. Students who are present at school and in need of access to testing can be tested in their building through the ongoing partnership between FPS and Summit Clinical Labs. For more information about testing, click here.
As shared in this update from the March 11th Newsletter, we will resume publishing dashboard updates if the Milwaukee County rating moves to high.
5th GRADE FAMILIES - UPCOMING VISIT TO FOREST PARK MIDDLE SCHOOL

SABER CENTER COMMUNITY FEEDBACK
The Saber Center for the Performing Arts will be opening up to more community-focused events and activities and Franklin Public Schools is seeking feedback from the community on what types of events are desired at the Saber Center for the Performing Arts. To access our Saber Center Feedback Survey, you can click/tap the associated QR code, scan the code with your mobile device or go to tinyurl.com/scfdbk in your browser. If you know community members that are not parents in the school district (and do not directly receive our newsletters), please pass them the survey so they can offer feedback too! The survey will also be included in our OPENING DOORS insert in the City Newsletter that goes out to all city mailboxes around May 20th. The survey will close at the end of May. Our president and secretary positions are up for re-election this year. Below are brief descriptions of what each office entails. Anyone who has an interest in running for a position can contact a board member via email, in person, or through the messenger chat features in our Facebook groups.

The Secretary shall record the minutes of the membership meetings and perform such other duties as may be assigned.
The election of officers is held yearly in May. No member shall be nominated without his or her consent. The new Executive Board will be voted on and announced at the May PTO meeting on Tuesday, May 10th at 5:30 pm in Room 3 at Country Dale.
