Why It Worked
It included a unified army for the states.
It set up a legislature where each state had one vote.
It was able to build and control an army.
It had the ability to deal with foreign countries on behalf of the states.
Why It Didn't
- It didn't let the national government enforce laws.
- It didn't let the national government tax.
- It required 9 out of 13 state's approval to pass a law, and all 13 in order to amend a law.
- It didn't set up a executive or judicial branch.
- It caused the states to suffer economically, especially when each state started tax one another and hurting trade.
