April 2023
Principal's Message
Aloha Hickam Families,
We hope you had a restful spring break and a great start to the 4th quarter. As we start moving toward the end of school, we understand many of our families might be moving this summer. I request your assistance completing this Google form survey to indicate if you are returning to Hickam or moving over the summer.
Completing this form will allow us to prepare our class lists during the 4th quarter and the summer. If you are able to complete this form by next Tuesday, April 4th, we would deeply appreciate it. Thanks again for your continued support.

Spring Program 2023
From Asia to Europe, South America to Africa, our amazing Hickam students took us around the world. We cannot celebrate our Students enough for the hard work and dedication they put into this program! It was truly spectacular!
The Amazing Shake
Three of our outstanding Hickam students, Liam Berthelotte, Evie Hall, and Grayson Miller, had the fantastic opportunity to participate in the Ron Clark Academy's Amazing Shake Competition in Atlanta, GA. The contest is designed to emphasize manners, discipline, respect, and how to conduct themselves in a professional environment.
Our students were rated on different domains:
- Charisma
- Confidence
- Poise Under Pressure
- Common Sense
- Eye Contact
- Handshake
All of them did amazing. Evie placed in the top 50, along with two students from Aliamanu Middle School. Yet, the time they spent bonding with each other and meeting new friends made this an invaluable learning opportunity for our three Hickam students. We are so very proud of them!
I would be remiss if I did not thank our incredible team of Ms. Mardany and Coach Bunting (our club advisors), and Vice Principal, Ms. Jones, for working diligently for our students. I would also like to personally thank Mr. Berthelotte, Mrs. Hall, and Mr. Miller for serving as chaperones on the trip. Congratulations on a job well done!

After-School Club Spotlight
Broadcast Club
Our Broadcast club members are a group of dedicated students that document all of the events at our school. They produce a student-led News bulletin that is shared in the classroom. There level of professionalism and quality work has led to some great opportunities. Members of our broadcast club recently got the chance to visit the Olelo studio and learn how to use the different media equipment inside the facility.
