"Penn Pal" Update
The First "Penn Pal" Initiative was a success! Thank you to Brittany Wiltshire for telling a friend,... who told her mother,.. whose mother invited a friend,...who happened to be the recent past president of the foundation of Will Rogers!
That one contact made a huge difference in connecting people from across the city to get the word out about the needs and opportunities at Penn. Thank you Ms. Wiltshire!
We will have two more invitation dates for your friends, church members or civic group members to come and learn about Penn's vision. I hope that you will invite someone who will make a difference in Penn's future!

Cox Grant
Tulsa Area Schools,
A program of Cox Charities, Innovation in Education awards grants to fund classroom, school-wide or larger collaborative educational programs that encourage and promote students’ innovation and imagination in public and private schools (grades PreK-12).
Cox Charities Tulsa is funded by the generosity of nearly 700 local employees. This year, more than $236,000 have been pledged, $47,000 of which will go to support Innovation in Education grants.
Application Process and Notification Timeline
Educators may apply for individual classroom grants ranging from $1,000-$5,000. Grant requests ranging from $5,000-$10,000 must promote student learning through a school-wide or collaborative teaching program. These programs may incorporate multiple classrooms, grades, course disciplines or engage other schools.
Cox Charities utilizes an online application process for all grant proposals. All requests for Innovation in Education grants must be submitted through the online process by March 15, 2016. Applications submitted via e-mail will not be considered. To submit an Innovation in Education application online, visit www.coxcharitiestulsa.com.
Applicants will be notified of their funding status in May. Grant recipients will receive funds in the early fall of the following school year.
If you have any questions, please contact Kristin Holland at (405) 286-5402 or Kristin.Holland@cox.com. Please feel free to forward on this email to anyone within your school who may be interested in applying. We look forward to learning more about your school, hearing your innovative ideas and working together to make an impact in the lives of Tulsa-area children.
