What are we learning about this week?
** Due to the short week and the post-Halloween sugar overload experienced by most trick or treaters, there will be no spelling and no math homework this week. **
October 2nd - 31st: Habit 2 - Begin With the End in Mind
Reading: We are working on finding character traits in their reading. We will talk about how character's change throughout the course of the book. We will talk about how there are observable traits and traits that you have to watch in their behaviors and the way they talk.
We will also be discovering the Point of View by the characters in our stories we read as well as being able to identify the plot and the beginning, middle and end of those passages.

How did ___‘s feelings change by the end of the story? How does ___ most likely feel at the end of the story?
How does ___ change from the beginning of the story to the end?
What lesson do the characters learn? What lesson does the main character learn?
Why did (character) want ___?
Which sentence best describes (names of 2 characters) relationship?
Which sentence best shows that (character) is (character feeling)?
What things do you know about the character from the way he thinks or behaves?
Math- We are continuing to explore multiplication using multiple strategies. We will work out word problems, write out equations and discuss how the math applies to our everyday lives.
Science: We are excited to be piloting a new Science Unit, Environmental Explorations.
