Weekly Update
Winnona Park Elementary School
Dear Winnona Park families,
Term Five ended on the Friday before Spring break, and typically we would begin student-led conferences in April. Due to the shift in classes on April 12th, we have decided instead to offer end of year parent teacher conferences. The conferences will begin after May 10th, giving teachers time to gather more assessment data. We will end the year with a conference sharing updated assessments as well as some areas of growth for your student to work on over the summer. Thank you for your flexibility this year regarding conferences and reporting progress. All students will still receive a final report card in June. If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out to your student’s teacher or myself.
Sincerely,
Principal Scott

Attention Second Grade Families
From the Counselor
We all share a common goal for our children to be safe and protected from harm. Related to that goal, school counselors are required by OCGA 20-2-143 to present annual personal safety lessons designed to prevent sexual abuse, raise assault awareness and provide prevention education. The Think First & Stay Safe™ program is a research-based program that teaches specific personal safety education through interactive classroom lessons, role-playing and corresponding activities. Think First & Stay Safe™ enables students to take an active and necessary role in protecting themselves from abuse, assault and exploitation. CSD school counselors reviewed the program and selected it for our students. You can read more about this program here.
Community Circle
Community Circle begins each Friday at 8:30 AM. Students can log in through their Google Classroom Stream, and students in the building will watch from their classroom. Students can join Community Circle from home through their Google Classroom Stream. Watch past videos here.
