Intro
Do you really think a flying banana could kill you? In the poem Problems with Hurricanes it is filled with figurative language, word choice and tone, and form and structure.
Tone and Word Choice
In "Problems with Hurricanes" the narrator respects the power of the storm but in stanza 12 he makes fun of it and adds a little humor. Then, in "Prayer to the Pacific" the narrator talks to the ocean like its alive or person and it respect it through a prayer like nature is her friend and things (sea turtles) are family
Figurative Language
in "Problems wit Hurricanes" whole poem is metaphor. (changes of life) and in "Prayer to the Pacific" was personification.
Form and Structure
In the poem "Problems with Hurricanes" there is free verse, no rhyme, uneven stanzas and uneven lines but in the poem "Prayer to the Pacific" There lines were in a wave patter also random line spacing, free verse no stanzas, and one word lines
