Mrs. Szafranski's Class

Week 32: May 2-6

We're Going on a Study Trip!

Our class will be traveling to Ritchey Woods for our final study trip on Wednesday, May 4.

We will be talking about the differences we notice from our fall experience.

Every child will need to bring a completely disposable lunch and drink. Your child will also need to bring their snack to school this day. Please pack these separately so that your child does not have their snack with them on the field trip.

TCE Garden

Next week we will begin building our TCE garden!!! I am looking for some parent volunteers who are not afraid to get dirty to come and help us! We are hoping to head out to begin building from 2:15-3:30 on Tuesday afternoon (May 3). As of now, the weather looks great! Any takers? You will be working with small groups of students. Students will be practicing hammering & removing nails from scrap wood, screwing screws (with screw drivers & drills) into wood, helping assemble the garden, and drawing before and after pictures. If this sounds like something you'd like to help with, please email me!

Thanks so much for considering! As always, a background check and anti-bullying webinar are required!

Spirit Week

To have some fun during teacher appreciation week (May 2-6), a Spirit Week will take place!

Monday - PJ Day

Tuesday - Wear Cardinal Red

Wednesday - Wear Yellow or Hawaiian Shirt

Thursday - Wear Green or a Crazy Hat

Friday - TCE Spirit

Lemonade Week

Fourth grade will be selling lemonade for $.50 a cup the week of May 9. A permission slip will be coming home on Monday. Your child will have the opportunity to purchase a cup of lemonade each day if they bring in their money and signed permission slip. This is totally optional and the money raised will go to charities of the 4th grade's choice. Again, be on the look out on Monday for your child's permission slip if you are interested.
