UPDATED COVID PROTOCOLS

After gathering data from schools within Nebo District and the state of Utah, the Utah Health Department has updated school quarantine protocols. As of now any student who is identified through our contact tracing as having been in close proximity (within 6 feet for more than 15 minutes) of someone at school who tests positive for COVID does not have to be quarantined, as long as both students were wearing masks at all times. Our school nurse, Tylene Shelley, will notify parents via email that their student was in close proximity. If you receive the email please read it carefully. You can contact the school if you have any questions.

TERM 2 COMING TO AN END

This Thursday (January 14) is the end of Term 2. Please take a minute to check your students' grades and ensure they are succeeding in their courses. Teachers will be available to help students Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoon this week (as always). Please encourage your students to stay after if there is anything they need to work on!

NEW SEMESTER MEANS NEW CLASSES!

We want to remind you that as we begin a new semester next week (Tues, Jan 19), students' schedules will be changing. Many classes are only semester-long classes, so all students need to check their schedules and PRINT OUT A COPY prior to school on Tuesday morning. The school will NOT be printing their schedules for them.

Schedules can be accessed by going to https://nebout.infinitecampus.org/campus/portal/students/nebo.jsp

FOUR DAY WEEKEND!

This next weekend will be a 4-day weekend for our students! Friday (Jan 15) is a Staff Development Day (teachers will be working, but students do not attend). Monday (Jan 18) is Martin Luther King Jr Day, and we will have no school!

LOST & FOUND

We have a growing Lost & Found in the front office. At the end of the term, we will clear it out and start over.

If you have lost any item (jacket, backpack, hat, etc) please stop by the front office sometime before Thursday! On Friday, all unclaimed items will be donated.

WRESTLERS CONTINUE THEIR SEASON

Our Diamond Fork Wrestling team is continuing their season with competitions over the next few weeks. Their schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, January 13th--Salem Jr @ DFJHS

Wednesday, January 20th--DFJHS @ Spanish Fork Jr

Tuesday, January 26th--Districts @ Mapleton Jr

Only parents will be permitted into the matches this season, due to COVID protocols. The wrestling matches will be live streamed on our DFJHS YouTube channel.

BASKETBALL SEASON CONTINUES

Junior high basketball season is currently underway. Our teams will resume competitions this Thursday vs Springville Jr. Here is the information you need to know:

Our updated Season Schedule can be found on the Diamond Fork Website (dfjhs.nebo.edu/content/diamondback-athletics)

Only parents will be permitted into the games this season, due to COVID protocols. The games will be live streamed on our DFJHS YouTube channel.

AFTERNOON TEACHER HELP TIME

We want to ensure that all our students (and parents) are aware that our teachers are STILL available to help our students each week. Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday teachers are here to support students from 1:55-2:45! Whether it is a test re-take, a make-up test, a missing assignment or just a question, your teachers are here to help!

We encourage all our students to make good use of this time! You are welcome to stay after on your own accord, or we may invite you to stay. Either way, we want to help you!

NETSMARTZ TIMELY TIP

MMHS BOYS SOCCER OPEN GYM

Open gym for boys soccer interested in playing for MMHS this spring will begin this week at the Maple Mountain Fieldhouse. For 9th grade boys, they will have time from 8-9 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This began on Tuesday, Jan. 5th and will run for the next 6 weeks.

Athletes should plan on wearing turf shoes or other athletic shoes--no cleats are allowed in the Fieldhouse.

If you have any questions, contact Coach Larry Cullum at lawrencedc1968@gmail.com.

ONLINE MEAL ORDERING FOR AT-HOME LEARNERS

The best way to order school lunch and/or breakfast for students who are not at school is to fill out a survey each day for each student. This includes kindergarten and preschool students, remote learning students of all grades and any students home due to COVID restrictions. You will need to order before 9 a.m. each morning. Meals are only provided on scheduled school days. For special circumstances, you can still call the school to place your order.

This would also be the method of ordering breakfast and lunch if your student is required to stay home for quarantine or for other COVID-19 related schedule adjustments or closures.

To place your order, please go CLICK HERE.

By way of reminder, meals can be picked up in the front office between10:15 and 10:30 each morning.

We hope this makes the process easier for all involved. Please contact the school if you have any questions.
