The Lake Ridge Bridge
August 24, 2018
Weekly Recap
Hopefully this message finds you in good spirits. Week two came and went quickly, but it was filled with so much learning and excitement both on and off campus. Scholars continued to explore our Longhorn Essentials and various campus expectations and procedures, and they had a chance to apply what they learned the first three days of school.
PTA's Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A seemed like a family reunion because the greetings, waves, and laughter continued throughout the evening. There was even a guest appearance by The Cow. The spirit continued on through the week at the TRE Tailgate that was followed by the Longhorn Round-Up. Families had a chance to learn facts about the TRE, and many had a chance to vote that evening. We capped off the evening being introduced and running on the football field as we were cheered on by our high school Longhorn athletes.
All in all, the spirit and family feel is one that we want to continue throughout the year. The atmosphere on our campus exudes positivity and unity, and we know that together, we can achieve our goals. This week, we will continue our focus on reinforcing Culture while applying everything that has been learned during Content. Scholars will also find out which House they will represent while at Lake Ridge; we are excited about this new component. Continue along with us as we strive for excellence.
Early voting has commenced for the TRE. Polls at the Cedar Hill Government Center are open until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 25 and open from 1:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 26. Every vote counts!
