Math and Science

Math- Our current unit is Fractions. There are many components to this unit, and we have been working really hard on these skills in class. Students will have a unit test on Thursday April 3rd.

Science- Our current unit in Science is all about living things. This includes studying cells, life cycles, and classifying living things. We will continue this unit after Spring Break.

Mrs. Dailey's class has PE on Thursday.
Ms. Schreiner's class has PE on Monday.

Reading and Social Studies

We started a class novel study of Old Yeller. We will be reviewing the different fictional reading strategies that we have been practicing all year throughout this study (making predictions, making inferences, visualizing, using context clues, etc).

In writing for the next few weeks will we focus on responding to reading through writing. We will be using evidence from the text to support our answers.

Language Arts: We have been studying pronouns this past week, and next week we will continue working with adjectives.

Social Studies: When we get back from Spring Break, we will pick up with some Kentucky history.

Notes from the teacher

Boone County Schools Superintendent Dr. Randy Poe will recommend to the Board of Education that June 3rd be the last day of the 2014 school year. This has to be approved by the Board of Education at their upcoming meeting on April 17th.
