Principal's Message
Campo Families,
Just a reminder the next two days are half-days (Thursday 17th & Friday 18th). Please see our website for the bell schedule. As we wrap up the last week of the semester I feel so much gratitude for everyone's hard work and dedication. I am continuously grateful that I get to lead our amazing community. As we receive more information over the next couple of weeks we will continue to keep everyone updated. Please look for further information from the GPS district office in regard to our return next semester.
Our administration would like to wish all of our families happy holidays and a happy new year. Thank you for your continued support and stay well over break.

AP Exam Registration
Hello AP Students-
The deadline to sign up and pay for your AP exams has passed and there now is a late fee of $40 per exam as mandated by the College Board.
Please follow the 2 steps on the handout to register for an exam. They are outlined here. Students must complete both steps to successfully register.
The deadline to register WITH late fees this year is February 26, 2021.
Important PSAT Information
For those students who took the PSAT on October 17th:
Please create or make sure you can log into your College Board account so you can easily access your scores online and unlock a robust set of personalized resources to help you understand your PSAT score. Create account or log in here:https://www.collegeboard.org/
Students who provided their email address on their PSAT/NMSQT answer sheet should have received an email reminder to view their October PSAT/NMSQT scores online on December 7 and 8.
Paper score reports will be mailed to the schools soon and distributed when we return from winter break.
For those juniors taking the PSAT on January 26th:
Please stay tuned for details as we get closer to the test date. As of now, it is scheduled to be a school day test from 8:00 am to noon. Pending the status of school, this could change to an after school test. Please be understanding and flexible if we have to make any last minute changes. Also, please note that this is a national test date that we cannot change due to the status of Gilbert Public Schools.
EVIT
EVIT has opened their online application. Due to the nature of this year, they decided it would be best to open it early. Below is a video that will walk you through the application.
Sophomores can begin applying by going to evit.com/enroll. Once EVIT has all of your documents, Attendance, Discipline, Current Transcripts, and Immunizations, then your application will be reviewed and possibly accepted. Email amy.jacobson@gilbertschools.net to get your documents.
Campo's EVIT representative will be on campus twice in January to help with enrollment, but for the programs that fill up quickly (most programs offered at East Campus: Aviation, Vet Assistant, Future Engineering, East Cosmetology, East Medical Assistant, East Nursing Assistant) I would recommend you fill an online application sooner than later. To secure specific timeframes (AM or PM time slots), I would also recommend enrolling sooner.
How to apply at EVIT:

enrollment information
Campo Verde Global Academy & Flex Students
Please take a moment to review our Global Academy/Flex Student CVHS Newsletter. This document contains frequently asked questions and updates as we wrap up the semester.
Planning on coming back to Campo full-time next semester?
Complete the enrollment steps located at https://www.gilbertschools.net/enroll
Once the form is complete, our registrar will follow up with you to enroll your student to attend a full-day of in-seated instruction at Campo Verde.
This registration must be completed by any student/family that is currently full-time Global or Flex and is planning to attend full-time in person.
Planning to attend another school either in district or out of district next semester? A parent or guardian must officially withdraw their student from Campo Verde High School. The process only takes a couple of minutes at the Attendance office. Their hours are 6:30 a.m - 3:45 pm and if you call ahead they will have the paperwork all ready for you to sign. Completing this in a timely manner will help the transition to your student’s new school.

Despite challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the CVHS Orchestra ensembles delivered beautiful performances at the fall concert on October 22. Marching Band Awards & Winter Concert
The marching band celebrated the completion of a successful season, despite all the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. Director Matt Kozacek shared words of praise for the ‘can do’ spirit of the marching band, and after watching a season recap video, acknowledged students with awards for their contributions and leadership of the marching band. Freshman Chloe Smith received the Rookie of the Year Award and junior Peter Hilbert received the award for the Most Valuable Player.
This year instead of the traditional in-person winter concert, the CVHS bands recorded their performances for a soon to be released video presentation. Amazing music was shared by the Green Jazz band, the Copper Jazz band, the Concert band, the Symphonic band, and the Wind Ensemble!

Library Updates
*********************************
We are proud to announce the current standings of our Top Readers. Library checkouts are accumulated all four years for students and the top ten readers in each grade are announced every quarter. They will be getting a little treat from Mrs. Flaherty to congratulate them on their reading!
The library decorated two different trees this year to help keep spirits bright. One of the trees is a fun celebration of Campo’s very own Buddy the Elf, Mr. Baker. Zoom in on the picture to see the ornaments that use pictures of Mr. Baker spreading holiday cheer dressed up as Buddy the Elf. And our other tree is called The PositiviTREE. It is filled with ornaments that have motivating and uplifting statements. We hope our Campo students feel loved!
