What's Happening in the Wolf Den!
Library Orientations
I know you are all super pumped to get into the library and start reading! We will be having library orientations starting this Wednesday and you will be able to check out on the day you class comes. Once you have been oriented, you are welcome to come check out books at your leisure. We will be starting with 6th grade and working our way up towards 8th grade. Everyone will be able to check out books by the end of the second week of school, so please be patient!
Can you guess the reader?
As a fun back to school game, students will be able to guess which teacher is reading which book. All you can see in the pictures are hands and the books. Teachers were asked to choose their favorite children's or young adult book! How well do you think you know the CTMS teachers??? Those who want to guess can get forms from the library. The student with the most correct guesses will win a prize! Forms can be turned in until the end of September so our newest wolves have a time to get to know their teachers before they guess!
Policies
- All students may check-out up to three books at a time.
- Books are due three weeks from the time of check-out.
- Students may renew their books as long as the book is not on hold for another student.
- Late fines are $0.10 a day per book.
8th Grade Books
On some of our books, you will notice a yellow "8" sticker. These are books bought with 8th graders in mind, but may be checked out to any student. Please be aware that these book have content that is more mature in one of three ways: violence, language, or sexuality. If you do NOT want your child reading these books, you can let me know and I will add a note to their file. If any book makes you uncomfortable at any time, simply stop reading and return the book to the library. Thank you!
Digital AudioBooks
Students will have access to over 200 digital audio books right from their devices. In order for a student to use these audio books, I need to make them a username and password. If students would like to use these audio books, just come by the library to get a username and password. Audio books are a great way to read while you are doing other things. In addition, audio books have proven to increase reading fluency, vocabulary, and general knowledge.
