A MESSAGE FROM WALLED LAKE SCHOOLS
As you know by now, Governor Whitmer has suspended in-person K-12 instruction (Governor Whitmer’s Executive Order) for the remainder of the school year.
Although our children will not be going back to our school buildings, we remain committed to ensuring that our students continue to receive an education. Likewise, we remain committed to ensuring that our high school seniors graduate and are appropriately honored.
Undoubtedly, there remain many unanswered questions. We do not have all of the answers yet; however, we will be working and planning to get you answers in the near future, after Spring Break, April 6-10.
Here is what we do know:
We are committed to providing the best support possible for our students, academically, socially and emotionally, albeit virtually.
We will continue to provide virtual instruction. Although the vast majority of our students are online participating in virtual classrooms, we will continue to reach out to families who have not yet engaged in these opportunities.
We are positioned to push the envelope creatively and reach out to our students and families to celebrate student achievements in new ways. We want to create memories and provide unique opportunities for students to celebrate the relationships they treasure, and their many accomplishments.
We are examining safe options for high school graduation, although no specific plans have been made yet. Further, individual middle school and elementary school communities will also collaborate to acknowledge and celebrate student accomplishments.

VIRTUAL LEARNING WILL CONTINUE AFTER SPRING BREAK
We will continue virtual learning and use the many technological tools we have to continue to forge critical connections among students, staff, parents and the community. We are aware that many families are trying to balance having several children using one device and ensuring that they are participating in Zoom meetings, classroom assignments, and much more.
SPRING BREAK
Please take time to disconnect from your Google Classroom and any other virtual learning during Spring Break. This will be a good time to be creative, read, and try out some of the activities below. On behalf of the all the elementary schools, we are wishing you a peaceful Spring Break.
ADOPT A GRANDPAL!
Support and interact with local seniors all while maintaining proper measures of social distance! This is a wonderful opportunity to help bring a smile to someone's face!
CAN WE USE THE PLAYGROUND?
No. We have received a directive from the Oakland County Health Division. Our playground is closed until further notice.

MESSAGE REGARDING ONLINE INSTRUCTION
Our ultimate goal in moving to a virtual classroom is to create a way for teachers and students to connect, extend and enrich learning opportunities, and ensure a sense of stability for our school communities. We hope you and your students enjoy the opportunity to feel connected to our teachers and find the activities easy to engage in as best fits your families needs/schedules.

FOOD & FAMILY SUPPORT RESOURCES
WE ARE HERE TO SUPPORT YOU AND YOUR CHILD!
If your child is asking you for help at home, feel free to refer them to us! We are regularly in our online classroom and there are many people there, teachers and other students, that can answer their questions and help them.
Again, please send them to the classroom message boards and comments sections for help. Just as though we were in our Pleasant Lake Elementary classroom, we are here to help!
