Walkthrough Focus This Week
Our focus during walkthroughs this week will be on Instruction, particularly looking at communication:
“The teacher clearly and accurately communicates to support persistence, deeper learning and effective effort.” We will be listening for higher level questioning and also student-student conversations.
Seeking Cheer Sponsors for Next Year
Let's be sure we are in contact with those students who have attendance concerns. One or two phone calls home saying, "Hey, we missed you today!" can make all the difference. Students need to know that they matter.
Events This Week
Our WAMS Career Fair will be Friday. Sandra Smithwick has been hard at work getting business representatives to participate and also developing a schedule for the students that will allow them to remain in their core classes. She will share information with you this week.

Google Classroom
We hope you are finding Google Classroom easier to use and that you find it to be as helpful as we do, and that you are finding it as a useful resource for your students.
WAMS Word of the Day
This is a great website for improving vocabulary. There is also a calendar feature that allows you to hear the word pronounced and read the definition along with several examples of the word used in a sentence.
Anything we can do to help our students improve their vocabulary is a plus. We are still continuing our practice of approaching kids randomly in the cafeteria and giving them a ticket for chips or an ice cream if they can define the word of the day. Sometimes we will ask them to use it in a sentence. We have approached some kids who had no idea about "WAMS Word of the Day." Please be sure your students know about this. Thank you.
