Next week, Gables teachers are sending home goodie bags with
all Gables students in celebration of Literacy Night on Thursday, November 4 at 6pm. Join the Zoom that night

iReady: Practice Makes Perfect!
Each week, students should be reaching their goal of 30 minutes in Reading and 30 minutes in Math on iReady. The time can be spread through the week in the manner that works best for your family.
iReady can be accessed through Clever.com (instructions for Clever at https://www.ccsoh.us/Page/9297).
Parent Pickup
We're working on more ways to keep our Gables neighborhood safe during afternoon dismissal. While we're in the process, thank you for continuing to:
- Park on Willoughby St if you are walking to the building. Do NOT park on Becket Ave or the west side of Hollister St; this creates a dangerous situation for children who walk home and for buses turning into Becket Ave.
- Not turn left onto Becket from Hollister. Take Godown Rd to Lorraine or Slade and join the car line coming south on Hollister.
- Not leave gaps while leaving driveways clear. When you get to the school door, continue forward in the parking lot to the front of the building (continue closing gaps between cars) - the kids can still reach your vehicle safely and we can help several families at the same time.
- If possible, write your child(ren)'s name and grade(s) in large print on a sheet of paper and place it in your front window when you get close to the school.
Zoom Tutoring in November
Zoom Tutoring times for registered students is 5-7pm on Tuesday, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. During November, various holidays will affect this schedule. As a result tutoring will not be held on Thursday, 11/11 or Tuesday through Thursday 11/23-11/25.
Community Events & Resources
Dia de los Muertos at Columbus Museum of Art
On Saturday, Nov 6, celebrate the rich origins of Dia de los Muertos at Columbus Museum of Art with day-long offerings to connect, and honor our loved ones who have departed. Enjoy $5 admission all day, children under 3 are free.
From 1:00 - 4:00 p.m., enjoy live music by local salsa band Al Son del Iya, shop local Latinx vendors, participate in art activities and face paiting. The Schokko Cafe, open 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. will feature a kitchen takeover by Casa Mexcal Medican Grill.
