American Education Week
Purpose:
To present all Americans with a fantastic opportunity to celebrate public education and honor individuals who are making a difference in ensuring that every child receives a quality education.
Please join us for the celebration of American Education Week by visiting our classrooms during the scheduled times below.
Nov. 13- Grade 5 (9:15-10:00am)
Nov. 13- Grade 3 (11:45am-12:30pm)
Nov. 14- Grade 4 ( 1:00-1:45pm)(An informational flyer about classroom visitation for American Education Week will be sent home with each student on Wednesday, November 8.)
Parent/Teacher Conferences
- As a reminder, parent/teacher conferences are being held on November 19 and 20 from 12-8pm.
- All conferences are scheduled through Sign Up Genius, but you may contact our main office at 610-323-7510 ext. 4510 for available time slots if you were unable to commit to a time before the deadline. Your partnership is essential, so we will attempt to accommodate your availability.
- Although conferences are held during the dates above, report cards will not be issued until December 7.
Conferences are an excellent time for parents and teachers to engage in meaningful dialogue about student progress. Teachers are ready to share your child's data and respond to your questions.
In preparation for conferences, NEA.org suggests parents ask the following questions:
- What are my child’s strengths and areas for improvement?
- How does my child get along with classmates?
- Is my child working up to his or her ability? Where could he or she use improvement?
- What can we do at home to support what you are doing in the classroom?
Important Reminders
To ensure that all of our students are safely transported home, we are seeking your support with the implementation of current drop-off and dismissal procedures.
- Car line begins in the morning at 8:30. Students should not be dropped off before 8:30 am. Staff members are not in place to adequately supervise students before this time.
- Parents who elect to drive their students to LPES may drive around to the rear of the building (main entrance) and drop their child off between 8:30-8:55 am.
- Students who arrive after 9:00 am are considered tardy.
- When using the car line, please plan for your student(s) to be able to exit/enter the car on the right-hand side of the vehicle, so they do not exit/enter into traffic. Students are to exit their vehicle and walk along the sidewalk.
- If your child is not taking the bus home, a note must be sent to school informing the staff that your child will be picked up in the car line.
- During the car line, parents are asked to remain in their vehicles when picking up children. Please do not leave your vehicle unattended in the car line. If you need to assist your child with a large instrument, please proceed to the front of the car line before exiting your vehicle.
- When using the car line, please plan for your student(s) to be able to exit/enter the car on the right-hand side of the vehicle, so they do not exit/enter into traffic.
- Please do not skip the line or drive up the exit lane because this causes a serious safety issue.
- We are requesting that you notify the main office of any changes in your child's dismissal arrangements by 1:00 pm. It is important not to rely on email or Class Dojo to request transportation changes because we are unable to guarantee that teachers and office staff will receive the message before dismissal. We understand that emergencies may arise and we will work with families in those circumstances.
- If your child is not picked up for an appointment by 3:00 pm, your child will be dismissed via car line procedures at 3:25 pm.
- As a reminder, students must ride the same bus to school and the same bus from school daily.
