Parent Update
Hello KRMS families,
Our new quarter started on Monday. Reports cards will be emailed on Friday February 3, 2023. Teachers' gradebooks are updated regularly throughout the weeks so, there should be no surprises as JumpRope is a live document. Moving into the last half of the year, we look forward to the work and growth ahead of us.
Things continue to be busy here at KRMS. Winter sports and after school clubs are all underway. We are so happy to see that so many students are participating in after school activities. Unfortunately, we have had some difficulty with student behavior when they are waiting for the late bus. We know that the only way it is possible for some students to participate in after school activities is having the late bus as an option to get home. However, riding the late bus is a privilege that can be taken away from any student. If behaviors do not get better, students will be suspended from riding the late bus. Please discuss this with your children. In addition, students participating in KRMS sponsored activities need to keep their work habit grades in good standing to continue their involvement on teams and clubs.
As a reminder, cell phones are NOT allowed during school hours. Cell phones should be off and away in student’s lockers for the entire day, limiting distractions and maximizing learning. Should you need to get in touch with your child, please call the main office and we would be more than happy to get a message to your child or call your child down to use our office phones. PARENTAL SUPPORT WITH THIS IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Our next KRMS school dance will be held on Friday February 3rd from 6:00-8:30 pm in our school gym. The cost is $5.00. Only students who have been in attendance the day of the dance are permitted to attend. Students may bring a guest only if the guest is a 7th or 8th grader and the KRMS students have obtained permission from the administration (forms available in the office) at least 24 hours before the day of the dance. Students are not allowed to leave a dance early unless previously arranged. Administration may prohibit attendance at dances or extracurricular activities due to misbehavior. Parents, please pick up promptly. Students are expected to follow the KRMS Dress Code. Drinks and snacks can be purchased. There is transportation provided to and from the dance. There is a $2.00 for each way that must be paid when you arrive and leave the dance. The Ossipee bus stops at the Ossipee Town Hall at approximately 5:30 PM and at Court House Square in Ossipee at 5:40 PM. The New Durham bus leaves from the New Durham School at 5:30 PM.
Teaching behavioral expectations and recognizing students' expected behavior is an important part of a child's education and helps them be successful in school. KRMS has been focusing on the motto below to guide us on this path. As we move into the second half of our school year, we would like students to see how these expectations connect with the district graded work habit standards. Please see the document below for how we will be assessing these. We will be reviewing these with students in advisory this week.
Thank you all for your continued support and cooperation.
Sincerely,
Kerry Hunt
