The Beatles were an English rock band, formed in Liverpool in 1960. The members of the group were John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. The Beatles built there reputation playing clubs in Liverpool and Hamburg over a three-year period from 1960. They acquired the nickname FabFour and by the early 1964 they became international stars. From 1965 onwards the Beatles produced increasingly innovated records. Rubber Soul(1965), Revolver(1966), Peppers Lonely Heart Club Band(1967), The Beatles(1968), Abbey Road(1969).

After the break-up of the Beatles in 1970 they each enjoyed successfully musical careers. Lennon was shot and killed in December 1980, and Harrison died of lung cancer in November 2001. The Beatles are the best selling music artists in the United States, with 178 million certified units. In 2008, the grouped topped Billboard magazines, they hold the record for most number one hits on the Hot 100 chart with twenty. The group inducted Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 1988, with all four being individual as well from 1994 to 2015.
