NO SCHOOL TOMORROW (FRIDAY, OCT 8)
PTO PIZZA Lunch Update
A Note from the Principal
Welcome to the long weekend. The weather looks like it will cooperate, and I hope you have the opportunity to spend time with your family. I wanted to provide you with a few gentle reminders concerning afternoon pick-up.
1. Please make sure your child knows how they are going home. If possible, please write it in their planners.
2. If you need to change how they are going home, CALL THE OFFICE by 2:15 p.m. Teachers do not check emails during the day (440-366-1681).
3. Please teach your child their lane number or their bus name. i.e., Midview, Elyria, Sheffield, etc., and the color of your car, SUV, van, or truck.
4. Parents stay in the car and allow staff to load up the kiddo.
5. If you need to buckle up your child, pull over by the rectory.
6. If your lane is full and you are directed to the overflow lot, the parking attendant will direct you to the right lane, so make sure your lane number is visible in your front window.
7. Do not block the back of the lane line so that other lanes are not accessible.
7. Patience. We promise we can get everyone out of the parking lot by 3:00 p.m
We look forward to seeing everyone on Monday and GO BROWNS!
Faithfully,
Mrs. Hibler
Back to Basics
The second has to do with what transpired in the car pick-up line on Wednesday. That parent's behavior was inexcusable. We need to teach our children to be kind and patient and to problem solve without resorting to confrontational behavior. It is never appropriate to use profanity, It is certainly egregious when it is done in the presence of children. As stated yesterday, St. Jude School will not tolerate this behavior.

Ski Club Comes to an End
After managing the Friday Night Ski Club for 35 years, I am sorry to say that the time has come to call it quits. The changes that have taken place over the past two years have made it impossible to continue. It has been a real joy to work with over 5,000 students and their parents over the years. Without the help of over 100 different advisers/chaperones, our club could not have existed. In 1985 when the club began at St. Mary School, I never dreamed that the club would expand to partner with over 25 parochial, public, and charter schools in all parts of Lorain County. I truly appreciate the help I have received from the teachers, principals, and school secretaries that has allowed our club to function like no other club at Boston Mills.
For the last time......Think Snow,
Frank Humphrey
Director, The Friday Night Ski Club

St. Ignatius to offer Probability Class
The Math+ program includes 6 courses designed for 6th to 8th graders. Each Math+ course focuses on 1 major idea based on key concepts included in Stanford University’s introductory math sequence.
This Fall’s course focuses on Probability, a mathematical concept that has both practical relevance and important mathematical applications. The course will teach probability while exploring many real-world applications from finance to decision-making to poker. A letter about the course is attached.
The six session course will be taught on Saturdays at St. Ignatius High School from 2:15 to 3:15 pm starting on Saturday, October 16th and ending on November 20th. Students also have the option to attend the course virtually.
We think that many of the students at your school would enjoy and benefit from Math+ so we would appreciate your help letting families know about this program. If you could provide the attached information to families who may be interested, we would very much appreciate it. Families can sign-up at www.RedwoodPrep.com.
