What would the Founding Fathers do?
Our mission is to re-establish the limits and boundaries of the government as framed by the founding fathers of the United States of America. We strive for a limited federal government with a stronger state and local government. The party desires to get Congress to follow the Constitution and spend the people's money wisely. We combine fiscal restraint with traditional American values and freedoms.
The Conservative Party strongly supports the Second Amendment of the Constitution. The right to bear arms is important, as well as the right to individual self-defense, the defense of the family, protection of private property, and the preservation of traditional hunting rights. Gun control laws do not prevent criminals from obtaining guns, just removing them from law abiding citizens. Individuals have the right to defend themselves. Individual gun laws need to be enforced now rather than banning them all together so that we can better society.
The death penalty is a punishment that fits capital crimes, it is neither 'cruel' nor 'unusual.' Executing a murderer is an appropriate punishment for taking an innocent life. We believe that the death penalty is necessary but with the limitation and restrictions that are needed and in place currently. The role of the government is to protect life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness and this is not possible if citizens know that there is a criminal who has committed a heinous crime and still lives for his crimes. We support American values, while protecting our citizens.
