Ms. Janjua's KG Art Class
April 20 - April 29, 2016 | Issue 13
Our Kindergarten students have had some exciting explorations of Islamic Art throughout the past two weeks which we are excited to share with you all! We also began to explore four different painting techniques to consider how the same thing can look so different according to which creative technique and colors we use to express it. Please enjoy photos of our work below! :)
Wa Salaamu Alaykum,
ISLAMIC ART STUDY
During our Islamic Art Study, we looked at basic Islamic geometry stars and explored where lines go to form the shape of the star. Students added their personal touch by making their own versions of Islamic geometry with all different types of lines going in different directions. We also broke down the elements of an Islamic geometry star so that we could build it back together again like a puzzle!
Learning Four Different Techniques
Students explored three of four techniques this past week - finger painting, pattern drawing and pointillism. Next week inshaAllah we will be exploring palette knife painting!
