To Do List:
- Observation Anyone? If you're feeling anxiety, excitement, vulnerability, or just want it done; let me know an ideal time to pop in for a quick written observation. I must have one done for all my certified folks by Xmas break. If you don't schedule with me, that works, I just pop in and do it whenever. :)
- Staff Pumpkin Decorating Contest: You are invited to participate in the annual staff pumpking decorating contest again this year. Pumpkins should be dropped off in the library by the morning of Oct. 28th to be entered in the contest. Students will vote on their favorite one during library time. Who will win the golden apple trophy this year?
- Staff Halloween Costume: If you are interested in dressing in a school appropriate 'dwarf' costume; send Jodi your preferred Dwarf Name and/or anything you need help cutting out.
- Sunshine Club: Did you contribute? See Jodi if you have questions. This money is used for staff social events, paper products, small gifts for celebrations, get wells, deaths, etc.
- Oct. 31: 3 Goals & Self Assessment: Certified Staff Only
- Nov. 1: Deadline to join our own PTA ($15.00 via the PTA website/from our school website). There is a talk that you could get extra points on PTA grants if you are a member. :)
- OPTIONAL: Interested in reading a book from home (or wherever) on a specific date from our PTA Facebook page? Sign here here if so.
Staff Notes:
- Eagle Pride Assembly: Thanks for voting! This will be the new name for our once/month assembly (to replace MMM). Mark your calendars for the first one TENTATIVELY on Friday, Oct. 25th at 2:15-2:45.
- OT Schedule: Mr. Steve's schedule has kicked in. He will be taking on our OT student needs on Tuesdays and Friday mornings. Please know he may need to see students in one 30 minute block and his schedule will be tight.
- Safety Inspection Notes: Congratulations to all of you for helping maintain building safety through our annual inspection. We had a few write ups; but I have enjoyed giving our custodians a hard time for them as they were in their spaces. :) It feels great to be a 'safe' and 'orderly' school.
- Student Restrooms: Keep an eye on students using the restrooms (upstairs is the issue right now) and try to help prevent them from taking writing tools with them as they are putting their spelling and writing to work in the restrooms. Grrrr.
- Coin Drive Results: Thank you for helping with our 2nd grade project....waiting on results!
- NEW online ONLY: RtI Referral Form ~ RtI Referral Form click here (No more paper form). Teachers shouldn't have to refer for reading or math supports as the data referred students. You will see these lists at your upcoming team meetings.
- Music Program Update: We have decided with 1.5 music teachers this year we needed to support our two teachers by making a 'performance' shift. In the coming months, each grade level will work directly with the music teachers (when you are ready to schedule those meeting) on your new grade level music performance for the 2019-20: Kindergarten: Graduation Program (end of May/June); 1st Grade: Spring Plays/Songs; 2nd Grade: Support Class Plays in the Spring ; 3rd Grade: Outdoor/Camp theme songs around Campout; 4th & 5th Grade: Joint Performance in the evening on March 12th around Idaho History/US History. I will work to be sure parents understand this in next months newsletter. We also will work to enhance new music opportunities for our students such as at our monthly Eagle Pride Assembly, Sing Along at Xmas, Honor Choir, 5th grade Music Club, and more!
- Red Ribbon Week/Halloween (Oct. 29, 30, 31): Tuesday, Oct. 29 will be "We are STRONG" (Wear Red Day); Wednesday, Oct. 30 will be "Shade Yourself from Drugs" (Wear Sunglasses or a cap); Thursday, Oct. 31 will be "Say Boo to Drugs" (Wear Orange/Black) - Staff are invited to wear costumes; Teams need to decide how you want to handle costumes and communicate that plan accordingly.
- Color Printing: Did you know you can set your printer to print on the back side to save paper when doing crazy big projects/reports?
- iStation Training: David has scheduled Colleen to continue to be our followup training for 4 additional days throughout the school year. We will be working on a schedule and subs for these dates: Nov. 18, Jan. 17, March 13, and May 15. This also means if you were going to take a sick day or personal day these days; we will likely not be able to approve it as we will be out of subs.
- Eagle Eye Tank? Does anyone have an old/unused big fish tank or something that could hold thousands of Eagle Eye tickets that we could decorate and make a new visual for depositing tickets in that you would loan to us/donate?
