Senior Info Night- from College and Career Counselor, Rebecca Proznick
In the past few weeks, I have gone into the Senior English classes to talk with students about how to set-up and get ready for the College Application season. Students and families can find a detailed description of what we went over here online . It's a lot of information, but once you get into all of the different pages, it'll come together perfectly! :)
Please save the dates for the following Senior Informational Nights:
Sept 30, 6 pm, Library
Admissions Case Study (RACC event)
Have you ever wondered how Admission Officers decide who gets admitted? Take on the role of an Admissions Officer- with help from our Regional Admissions Officers from out-of-state colleges- and see who you'd pick to admit! (sign up sheet will be posted online in early September on the Senior Action Plan Page & in the Weekly Announcements page)
October 2, 7pm, Little Theatre
Financial Aid Information Night
Find out more about what types of financial aid are out there and what you and your student need to do to tap into them!
This class is doing GREAT with everything so far- keep up the good work!
Warm wishes,
Ms. Proznick

Schedule Change requests: At this point, schedule change requests will be considered case by case. We cannot guarantee your student's request, but will do our best to accommodate a change depending on the space available. Beginning Monday, September 30th- students' will receive a Withdrawal Fail (WF) or Withdraw Pass (WP) on their transcript for dropping a class. This negatively impacts a student's GPA. After 12 weeks of the semester, students are NOT allowed to drop a class and will receive the grade they have earned in the course.
Seniors: We will be meeting with all Seniors in the month of September to go over graduation satus and post-high school plans.
Letters of Recommendations: Please remind your student to provide teachers and counselors at least 2 weeks advanced notice when asking for a Letter of Recommendation. Please note Letters of Recommendation are not required by all colleges. We ask that students check each college admissions page to confirm the application requirements.
Athletic Booster Fundraiser- ACT/SAT Test Prep!
Boosters Fundraiser!
As you know, all Northgate sports teams are self-funded, so every opportunity for fundraising is important!
The Boosters are off to a great start in gaining financial support for each of our wonderful athletic programs and we are excited for what lies ahead this year!
As you know all of our athletes are student-athletes and I am very proud and excited to present a program from one of our sponsors that goes above and beyond to support our students and the athletic program(s) that they pour their heart and sweat in! I would like to introduce you all to Dan Harrington, owner of On Track Learning. On Track Learning is offering a 10% discount for all student athletes for their ACT/SAT Prep Fees AND will donate 10% of the discounted fees DIRECTLY back to the student-athletes athletic program through the Bronco Boosters!
This is an awesome opportunity and it comes with perfect timing! There are currently more than 10 weeks until the next SAT/ACT test date and the average student requires at least 10 weeks of prep to increase his/her score, so please sign up now if you are interested.
