PLA@George H. Fisher School 93
Greetings PLA Families,
Our 3rd-6th grade scholars have officially completed ILEARN testing. We still have some scholars to make-up. If you child was absent from school during our testing window, they will take their test in the coming days.
Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week! We are so thankful for our teachers and the work they do everyday for our scholars. Please join us in celebrating our teachers. See the flyer below for ways you can show your scholar's teacher how much you appreciate them.
Human Growth & Development™ is a puberty education program for 4th - 6th graders. This program is endorsed by the Indiana University School of Medicine as a high-quality, medically accurate, and fact-based program that positively informs youth about their growing and changing bodies. Programming is facilitated by LifeSmart Youth, Inc.’s degreed, professional Health Educators. We will be hosting this program at school on Friday, May 20th. Parent consent forms will be sent home on Monday, May 2nd.
We are excited to welcome a new program to PLA@93 next year. City Connects is a partnership with the Indianapolis Mayor's Office, Phalen Leadership Academies, and Marian University. A new staff member will be hired to provide resources and services to families. Part of this process involves a parent survey so that we can gain information on how best to serve you. Please take a moment to complete the confidential City Connects survey below. Your voice is critical to this process. To change the survey language, please use the drop down menu on the top right of the survey. The survey will remain open until May 13th.
We are currently SOLD OUT of yearbooks. However, good news!! We have ordered additional yearbooks and they should be arriving soon. Once they arrive, we will let scholars know so they can be purchased. The cost is $14 each.
There is still time to register for Summer Advantage. The deadline has been extended for you to register your scholar and receive transportation to and from school.
Sixth Grade Parent Reminder: All sixth graders received an enrollment packet for JRPLA, Phalen's Middle/High School. Reserve your scholar's place at our middle school for next year!
Our Family Resource Spotlight this week provides mental health resources. Read more about ways to improve mental health for yourself or a loved one below.
