TRUST: Our One Word
From the Office...
Please be certain your child rides his/her regularly scheduled bus to and from school each day. Birthday parties and gatherings involving bus sharing overload our buses, which are at capacity. Thank you for your understanding and diligence in this matter.
- Please remember to save Box Tops for Education, Richmond Food Pride receipts, Teal's receipts and Cashwise More Rewards (designate RI Elementary as the school you would like to support.) Richmond Elementary School received a check for $1000 from Richmond Food Pride again this spring!! Your efforts are certainly appreciated!!

Nurse Kooiman's Corner
Hello!
- If an accident or illness occurs during the school day, parents will be notified. If you or the designee are unavailable, it is important that the school have your permission to call your doctor or seek professional help as necessary. Please make sure your child is fully recovered and free of a temperature for 24 hours before having him/her return to school.
- Please check your child's head periodically for lice. While we do not have an outbreak, this is simply a reminder to examine your child’s head, especially behind the ears and at the nape of the neck, for crawling lice and nits if your child exhibits symptoms of a head lice infestation.
- If your student has a health concern or life threatening allergy please make the nurse's office or secretary in that building aware of the situation. There are care plans and lots of health info on each school web page under the health services tab. Please update the office each year with an updated care plan if your student has had an ongoing concern over the years e.g. (diabetes, asthma, seizures, peanut allergy etc) Thank You!

Title One
Dear Parents,
Title l reading and math groups (grades 1-5) have been meeting for about 6 weeks! Our reading students have been busy working with phonics, fluency, and comprehension skills.
Our math students follow their grade level concepts with some practice and review of number sense and fact fluency.
Our kindergarten groups started on October 22nd! If your child qualified for services, you should have received a letter and a brochure in your child’s Friday folder October 17th. .
I enjoy hearing from parents and encourage you to contact me with questions or for more information on Title l services. schlangens@rocori.k12.mn.us

From Our Kitchen
- Once a month we will have breakfast with a Special Guest. We have Guests scheduled for several months; some may be school employees and others may not. Each Guest will give a very short talk on who they are and what their job is. Please ask your son or daughter about the Special Guest November 13!
- ROCORI food service mission is to fuel the minds and bodies of our students with nutritious and sustaining meals so they can thrive both physically and mentally, while instilling lifelong eating habits. We offer daily free breakfast for all students.
