Our PTSA is sponsoring former NBA player Chris Herren to speak to our 8th graders tomorrow at 9am. Click here to learn more about Chris Herren. As a PTSA member and parent, you are welcome to attend the presentation in the Cafeteria tomorrow at 9am.
We just finished Basketball Season. Congratulations to all our teams for a well player season. We celebrated with our 8C Boy basketball team winning District Division Champs! See picture below the video!

Unpaid Sticker ID badges or Replacement ID badges
Students with an unpaid balance for sticker ID badges or replacement ID badges will NOT participate in Fun Food Frenzy on February 14th. Please remember, all unpaid balances not cleared by Thursday, February 13th will result in the loss of Fun Food Frenzy participation. Parents of students who have unpaid balances will receive email notification on or before Friday, February 7th . We will also give the information to Home Base teachers so that they can inform the students as well.
NJHS Information for Parents
Current 8th Grade Students:
NJHS invitations went out this week on Mon. 2/10 to current 8th graders who qualify for NJHS but are not currently participating. They will be allowed to complete an abbreviated version of the program. Once a student has turned in all the paperwork, they are automatically accepted.
Important dates:
· Paperwork due on Mon. 2/24 at 4pm
· Induction Thur. 3/5 at 6:30
Current 7th Grade Students:
NJHS invitations will go out to qualifying 7th graders after spring break.
Pennies for Patients - NJHS
TAYS community, we are excited to announce that we officially kick off our Pennies for Patients program next week! We will have online donations for the full month of our campaign and the last week of the campaign, March 16th, students will be coming home with their own collection box which they will return to their Home Base teacher Friday March 20th. As a community lets join forces to make our biggest impact ever for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Mission. TAYS community works together to be a hero against Cancer!! Dyslexia Parent Education
Parent education is a required component of dyslexia programming in Texas. The Office of Interventions will be hosting a Katy ISD Dyslexia Parent Education Night at the ESC on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 from 5:45PM to 8:15PM.
Additionally, Katy ISD will provide a link to the electronic version of TEA’s Dyslexia Handbook: Procedures Concerning Dyslexia and Related Disorders, to parents of children suspected to have dyslexia or a related disorder. The handbook is also available online on the Katy ISD Dyslexia Canvas Course for Parents and Educators at https://katyisd.instructure.com/courses/181816.

Summer Science Safari Camp
TJH TESTING CENTER INFO
Purpose: To support teachers and students having more time for tutorials by providing a one stop shop for retests and make-up tests. This will also alleviate students having to miss more instruction time to make up a test they missed.
Location: Room 1155
Hours: Monday - Friday 7:45 - 8:40. Students will enter through the doors closest to the flag pole in the front.
TUTORIAL SCHEDULE
Tutorials will be offered Monday through Friday. Students may attend tutorials with any grade level teacher - it does not have to be their classroom teacher.
Students are expected to enter through the front doors a 8:10am. Students are welcome to attend any teacher's tutorial within their grade level. Students are responsible for their own transportation to tutorials.
Afternoon Tutorials:
There is not a sign-up for afternoon tutorials, but if students wish to attend, they must be in the teacher's classroom by 4:00. These sessions will end at 4:25 and students will need to be picked up in front of the school in the circle drive.
