Monday, April 17th through Friday, April 21st is Hickory Heroes Week / Blue Ribbon Week to honor the men and women in healthcare, the U.S. Armed Forces, law enforcement, and fire protection, who are committed to keeping us safe and healthy. We also are celebrating YOU because you are an everyday hero too!

This year's Bike Rodeo will be held after school on campus at 2:45-4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19th. Open to 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders only.

Riders must bring their own bicycle and wear a helmet. Hickory winners will participate in the District Bike Rodeo on May 6th.

If your child would like to participate, please fill out and sign the permission slip and return it to their teacher by Tuesday, April 18th.

Copies will be available in the front office.

Due to limited space, we are only offering dedications to 5th grade families this year.

If you would like to donate to cover Promotion expenses, we suggest $10 per student. You can send cash or check (payable to "Hickory PTA") in an envelope marked "5th Grade PTA Donation" to your child's teacher or go to this link to pay by credit card: https://www.hickorypta.net/product-page/donate5th.

Again, all donations are optional, and every 5th grader will receive a t-shirt and dedication even if you do not donate to Hickory PTA.

Room parents will be in touch to let you know how your child can participate. In the past students have gifted heartfelt cards, flowers, or photo collages.

We can't wait to see what's in store for our Hickory teachers this year!

Additionally, the PTA will be organizing a few events to honor the entire school staff—we would greatly appreciate any donations of snacks or school supplies! If you're interested in participating, please sign up using this Google form:

The yearbook includes every student's school photo and will feature photos from our many events and activities throughout the year.

Sale price is $22. Price increases to $25 after May 31st. Yearbooks will be delivered to classrooms sometime after June 1st.

Calling all Hickory families!

If you're interested in volunteering regularly on campus or to chaperone field trips, you must must submit a district volunteer application (RAPTOR).

As part of the online application process, all volunteers must submit a TB Test/Risk Assessment Form. As of Sept. 17, volunteers are longer required to have a covid vaccination or proof of negative test.
