The Panther Post
The end of the year is approaching fast! Stay informed...
Principal’s Message
Wow! We are halfway done with the third trimester! Progress reports went home last week, and now we turn our focus to CAASPP testing, Blackstock band Spring Concert, field days, promotion and finishing the year together. May will be a month of great focus on academics. We are working hard to master as much curriculum as possible in preparation for CAASPP testing. The students continue with the high quality work that is accustomed here at Blackstock Jr. High School.
On Tuesday, May 17, 2022, your child will be participating in the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress, or CAASPP. Testing will take place daily from May 17, 2022 until May 27, 2022 through their ELA and math class. Eighth graders will take the CAST (science test) May 31, 2022-June 1, 2022. Please make sure your child is at school every day and is on time during testing to provide the best opportunity for success on the test. Please schedule doctor appointments for the afternoon. Also, make sure he/she gets plenty of sleep the night before and has a good breakfast in the morning. Please ensure they charge their chromebook every night and that they bring it to school everyday.
We will be asking students to place their phones in their backpack and backpacks will be placed in the back of the room. Students will not have access to their cellphones during testing. We highly recommend that they leave them at home. In addition bluetooth/wireless earbuds will NOT be allowed. They will have to be placed in the backpack during testing. We also recommend they remain at home.
Thank you for your continued support. Let’s have a positive and educationally productive month.
