Greeting from Ms. Holmstrom- Your New Principal
Dear Parents and Students,
On behalf of the Gloucester City Middle School staffulty, welcome Lions to the 2019-2020 school year! We are excited about all of the positive things this year will hold for you! Whether you are new to the building or GMS was your home last year, you are guaranteed to have a great and memorable experience. You will meet new teachers, make new friends, and learn many new things.
I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself, my name is Ms. Jennifer Holmstrom and I am excited to begin this 2019-2020 school year as your principal. It will mark my 21st year in education. I have served as an elementary teacher in Atlantic City, a school counselor in Ventnor Middle School, a 10-month Assistant Principal in Egg Harbor Township High School, and a 12-month Assistant Principal in Middle Township High School. I am looking forward to a great year with you.

What’s happening at GMS this year?
1. Mrs. Foley is the 6th - 8th-grade Assistant Principal you may reach her at ext. 4054, and Mrs. Gurcsik is the 4th - 6th-grade Assistant Principal you may reach her at ext. 4045.
2. Welcome to our new Staff: Mr. Grant, Ms. Steedle, Ms. Burch, Mr. Francis, Ms. Barnow, Ms. Damato, Ms. Fultano, Ms. Athey, Ms. Motolese, Mr. Sidoti, Ms. Wilson, Ms. Brandt, Ms. McAllister, Mr. Whitecar, and Ms. Bennett.
3. Renaissance Student and Staff Recognition Program will begin at GMS. We will share how this will look as we start the year.
4. We are going Solar in our parking area! Take a look at the changes we have made.

First Day of School- Drop off/ Pick up, Time Changes, and what to bring.
I wanted to share some information about the first day of school. Breakfast begins at 7:23 am. Homeroom now starts at 7:53 am. The school day will dismiss at 2:43 pm.
On the first day of school, students will report to their homeroom class. Please access Parent Portal before the first day of school in order for your child to have their schedule as they will need it when transitioning between classes.
All car drop off occurs the same as last year by way of entering our bus lane on 5th street. All students will continue to enter from the back of the school.
For dismissal our bussers and vehicle pick up will exit the property first. Please note car pick up is different from the morning as it occurs on 6th street. All walkers will be dismissed through the front of the building and must use crosswalks. Please view the video below.
We are excited to see you on Tuesday morning and cannot wait to start the school year. Reminder all 5-8th grader, please bring your computer backpacks to school with you.
