FFA Dairy Judging Team Takes Second at Nationals!

Awesome news from Indianapolis! The Petaluma FFA Dairy Cattle Team placed second in National Finals! The team of Melanie Hanlon, Megan Binford, Morgan Hartman and Derrick Pomi put Petaluma back on the map with a terrific showing. In the past, the top three teams have qualified for the International Competition in Edinburgh, Scotland! We will watch to see if this group is headed across the pond, as have teams in the recent past. Way to go, Petaluma FFA, advisers Kim Arntz, Cara Parlato, and Jake Dunn, and all the parents who dedicate their time to FFA.

Varsity Football Aimed at NCS Playoffs

Senior Night was as always a bittersweet moment as the Petaluma Trojans closed out the regular season versus Elsie Allen at Casa Grande's field. Sharing the evening with the Homecoming Court and our Homecoming Queen, Grace Ghiradelli, a large group of senior varsity players and their parents were honored before the contest for their hard work and dedication. Afterwards, they went on the field and easily handled a game Elsie Allen squad in a 63-21 win. The Trojans ran the ball effectively in the first half and were quickly out in front, running up a big half time lead. A couple of turnovers in the second half allowed Elsie to get some momentum, but the Trojan reserves put the game away.

The Trojans (8-1, 4-1) now look ahead to the NCS playoffs and the highly competitive Division 3 seeding. As of now, it looks like the Trojans will be on the road for the first round so gas up the car!

A wide variety of science enthusiasts were present for hands-on activities. The North Bay Science Discovery Day is the highlight of the annual week-long Bay Area Science Festival. Trojan Tribune Special Issue!

Please check out a special edition of the Trojan Tribune that was distributed Monday during SSR, in response to the wildfires. Our journalists (AJ Shaheen, Riley Zajonc, Sheriene Arikat, and Alex Dodd) created this issue in just 8 days! They did this in just 4 CLASSES; our normal turnaround time is 4-5 WEEKS. It is a terrific round up of the events surrounding the tragic fires the county experienced. Way to go, Trojan Tribune staff and Ms. Redfield! Snag a copy from the main office or stop by A2.
