Biodiversity in the Rainforest
Oodles of Organisms
The Amazon Rainforest is located in northern South America. It takes up an area about the size of the continental United States.
Importance of the Amazon Rainforest
The Amazon Rainforest is full of many important things. The Amazon provides us with fresh air to breath, beautiful plants and animals, and some of the foods we could not live without. Aside from all those things the Amazon is the place with the most biodiversity on the planet.
The Amazon Rainforest is a beautiful place filled with many different organisms. However it is in danger of losing these organisms. The Amazon is being destroyed by deforestation, pollution, and mining. Land is being cleared for logging, farm land, open land for corporations, and many more. If this does not stop the Amazon and the whole world will be effected. The Amazon helps combat global warming and is home to many animals and plants that are not found anywhere else that we use everyday. This will all be gone if the Amazon is destroyed.
While there are negative things happening to the Amazon there are positives combating them. There are people working towards making sure no more of the forest gets cut down. There are protected areas, efforts to make sure farms have healthy soil so they do not need to clear more land, and habitat rehabilitation. All of these efforts are working towards a healthier and safer Amazon.
