It's a great place to hang your hat!
I hope everyone is having a fabulous week. it has really begun to set in that our school year is coming to a close. I cant believe there are only three and half weeks left of school! I am looking forward to building our last memories as a class in the coming weeks.
This week our schedules have been very different due to STAAR testing. I have to say the kiddos have done a fabulous job adjusting to the changes we've had to throw at them.
Next week is a busy week. On Thursday our class will be working with Mrs. Amy, our school Occupational Therapist, to have a bake sale for the staff. That morning we will be decorating cookies and then will open up our store at 11 for the staff to stop by and purchase cookies and drinks from our students. It is going to be a lot of fun. Then next Friday we have Field day.
With this end of the year coming up, our main focus for the end of the year will be to do all of our assessments and end of the data collection for the next few weeks.
What we've been learning!
We worked on idenitfying pairs of rhyming words, identifying characters setting problem and solution, as well as the main idea of a passage.
In writing this week we are working on writing stories about a picture.
In math we worked on comparing two sets of quantities to identify which has more and less. We also used our hairy money strategy to determine the value of like coins.
In science we learned about animal adaptations.
We are learning about goods and services.
