Snow on the Playground

As long as the temperature is above 20 degrees and it is safe for students, we will go outside for recess when there is snow on the ground. Students will only be allowed to walk and play in the snow if they are wearing snow boots and gloves. Thank you for your help with ensuring students stay safe and dry on snowy recess days!

Root Beer Floats!

Permission forms for our root beer float experiment were sent home this week. Please return the permission form as soon as possible! Thank you!

If your child received an iPad or other electronic devices over the holidays, he/she is more than welcome bring it to school with your permission. Thank you!

We are Learning...

Reading: We will continue to study nonfiction texts. We will be learning how to gather information from informational texts so that we can become experts on a topic. We will be comparing and contrasting different books on the same topic as we read.

Math: We will complete our topic on subtraction to 100 with and without regrouping.

Writing: We are working on our nonfiction texts. Students brainstormed topics they would like to teach others about and our planning their drafts!

We will complete our unit on the states of matter. Students will be studying the properties of liquids, solids and gases with our root beer experiment!
