No more FRIDAY FOLDERS!!
Hurray! There will be no more Friday Folders, but you can find most information in our weekly Smore that goes out every Friday! We will be sending home PTA items and important notices Friday in students Green Take Home Folder.
Star Student
Please be on the look out next week for more information on Star Student. This is an activity that we do that the kids really enjoy!
Snacks/Water
Just a reminder, the students are allowed to bring a water bottle and snack to class each day. I would actually prefer they all have a water bottle so that they don't have to leave class to go get a drink, but please make sure it is just water. No flavored water or colored water please as we have new carpets and pillows in our room! :) Please make sure that they are having a healthy snack as well. NO PEANUTS! Something fast and quick like goldfish, pretzels, a piece of fruit, etc.
Volunteers
We love to utilize volunteers in the classroom and appreciate each and every one of you that are able to do this! Please review the volunteer handbook and complete the background check if you would like to volunteer this year. http://www.gcisd-k12.org/page/474
Spirit Days!
We are excited to announce that every Friday will be Spirit Day! We can't wait to see the kids show their Bransford Texan pride by wearing a spirit shirt or red, white, and/or blue each Friday. GO TEXANS!
Sign up for PTA Please :)
Please, sign up for PTA if you have not already. We are trying to get 100% participation. Thank you to those who have already done so.
HEADPHONES
This year we will be using technology more and more to help aid us in our learning. If you have not sent in a pair of headphones with your child, please send them in as soon as you can. (I've heard Five Below has some great sets for under $5!) Head phones work a lot better than earbuds.
Thank you so much!
Puzzle Fun!
We worked together and made two #2 puzzles!
Xtra Math
Students have started using the app called Xtra Math on their ipads to help them with their fact fluency. Their pin is taped in their green folders. While the ipads are not going home yet, they may access it at home by going to xtramath.org. The app is $5, but the URL is free. Log in by putting the teacher email and student name and the students 4-digit pin that is in their green folder.
The Solar Eclipse!
Wow! What an awesome experience checking out the solar eclipse on the first day of school. Thank you PTA for purchasing safe glasses for us to wear!
