2C's Latest and Greatest!

Holiday Party

I want to give a BIG SHOUT OUT to all of the parents who came and celebrated with us at the party yesterday! We all had a fabulous time and everything went smooth! Also, thank you to our fabulous room parents who took the time to plan everything and get it all together, you ladies ROCK! I sent home a thank you letter with your child today, if you did not recieve it, I just want you to know how much I truly appreciate each of you spoiling me all year long. I am blessed to be in your child's life, thank you so much for letting me be a part of it. Merry Christmas to you and your families and a big Happy New Year! Have a restful break and I will see you in 2014!

*Please feel free to send me pictures of the fun things you are doing over the break, I would love to create a video for the class to see!

What we are learning this week....

Math: In math, we will once again be looking at subtraction. Be sure to check out this week's Math Fact Fluency Website of the Week!

Science: This week, we will be looking at rolling wheels and cups. How can a wheel and axle system be changed? Can we predict the behavior of a rolling cup? What happens if weight is added to a rolling cup system?

Language Arts: As we begin a new year, we will be writing about our New Year Resolutions, spelling compound words, compare/contrast and verbs for past, present and future.

Social Studies: We will begin looking at maps and globes and deteremining where we live on a map!

GTi: Students in the GTi program, will continue working with Mrs. Malone and myself to gather research for their "I wonder..." project.

Children will enjoy solving math problems while playing Math Fact Basketball. Children choose from addition, subtraction, multiplication or division practice. Get 5 math problems correct in a row to take foul shots with the basketball. http://www.abcya.com/math_facts_game.htm
