Grade 3 Reader's Theater

Ready, Set, Action!

Mrs. Liguori’s third grade class has been working on a new format that focuses on fluency and comprehension skills for reading. It’s called Reader’s Theater. Each week she reads new scripts. The children then read a script several times during the week. This practice gives the students repeated reading of familiar text and a chance to work with classmates asking questions about the story. “They are really working well together and they love it at the same time! Their inflection and fluency has improved, too,” Mrs. Liguori shared.

She and Mrs. Sayegh work with the children every morning for about 15 minutes. The best part is the performance that takes place on Fridays. Usually, this is presented by each group to their classmates. We are happy to announce that parents will be invited to watch the performances live for the first time on November 19th. Look for details next week!

Label Your Child's Jackets!

Lost and Found

Winter is coming! Please be sure to have your child's jackets labelled with their name. We already have several lost jackets that do not have any names. We cannot return items if we do not know who they belong to. Please take the time now to put their names on jackets and sweatshirts. If the day starts cold and turns warm, jackets will be lost.
